Lisa Gilley was born and raised in the Skagit Valley farmlands in Washington state. Heavily influenced by

her environment and inspired by the work of many Northwest artists and early Modernist artists (including many in the WPA program) her paintings are an attempt to capture a timeless narrative of the Northwest landscape.


Lisa has a bachelor of science in Visual Communications from Western Washington University (WWU)

(with degree emphasis in graphic design and film/video production) and a minor in Fine Art Studies.

She also studied at the School of Visual Concepts and the Pratt Institute in Seattle. A former professional

illustrator, graphic designer and art director in the Pacific Northwest her design work and illustration have appeared in numerous national publications and advertisements. Lisa currently resides and works in her

studio on her Marrowstone Island farm (on the Olympic Peninsula) where she also runs her equine injury rehabilitation business.


Lisa’s work has appeared in solo and group exhibitions throughout the Northwest and is held in private collections throughout the United States and Europe.
