Biography

1990 graduate in Visual Communications Education (VICOED) from Western Washington University, Lisa Gilley spent 17 years as a professional artist, art director, graphic designer and illustrator in the Pacific Northwest. She resides on her Marrowstone Island farm focusing solely on her fine art career and running her horse injury rehabilitation/sports massage business, Northwest Equine Therapy Services, that she established in 1999. Influenced heavily by the work of other Northwest artist, the NW Mystics movement and her own upbringing in the Skagit Valley her contemporary realist landscapes have been described as timeless narratives of the Northwest. Lisa’s commercial work has appeared in numerous publications and advertisements. Her paintings and pastels have appeared in group, invitational and solo shows throughout the Northwest are held in private collections through out the United States.Lisa is currently represented by Lucia Douglas Gallery in Bellingham Washington and Waterworks Gallery in Friday Harbor (San Juan Island) Washington.
